Hearing Aid Fitting

Your hearing aid fitting is an important part of your complete hearing solution. Once you have completed a comprehensive hearing evaluation and selected the aids that meet your needs, your hearing professional will program them based on specific lifestyle factors. During this time, you’ll learn how to :

  • Use the devices
  • Put them in your ears
  • Remove them
  • Change batteries
  • Care for and clean the devices

We suggest bringing a friend or family member to help remember all the information that is given and to provide you with support.

During this fitting, we will gauge the sounds you are hearing and the comfort level of the hearing aid. The sounds you hear should be clear and pleasant. We may do additional alternate testing to make sure the hearing aids are giving you enough sound where you need it.

For us to better understand how the hearing aid is working for you, we may give you a short survey or list of questions to answer. Our mutual goal is for your hearing quality to be the best it possibly can be.

Keep in mind that it may take some time to get used to the sounds you were missing, and by working closely with your audiologist, you will be able to get the most out of your new hearing aids. If you find that you need additional support with your devices, please contact us today.
